Principled living is not a house to reside in…it’s a vehicle to navigate in!

Spiritual principles are like laws of nature.  If we cooperate with them, we find we actually gain more power and control over our lives than if we try to fight them.  Cooperating with physics, we can put planes in the air and move boats through the water.  Cooperating with God’s Word, we can experience the fullness of life and create better opportunities our families.

Sometimes it can seem like cooperating with principles is restricting.  We feel like we’re in a box with limited options.  But the box was never meant to restrict us.  The box of principled living is not a house to reside in…it’s a vehicle to navigate in.  By enclosing ourselves inside spiritual principles, we navigate through the world around us, uniquely positioned to make the most of our experience and protect ourselves from dangers that present themselves.  It’s no more restricting than keeping your hands and feet inside the cart on the roller-coaster ride, or using the GPS system to guide you to your destination.

Have you ever felt like God was trying to box you in with a bunch of rules?  What if everything He ever instructed us to do was actually meant to bring us more freedom?

“I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.” John 10:10b
